  • Failure to boot memtest from DVD

Hi, first time im trying to use memtest over here and i am running into a problem when the PC tries to boot from the bootable DVD.

EDD: Error 8000 reading sector 279
No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found

is what i get and a boot: prompt after. Googling this pretty much only nets me results of installing various linux versions using a usb stick and the solution there seems to be to format the stick to fat32 but i dont think i can do that to a dvd. Anyone have any idea what the issue is?

It is almost surely the case that the DVD is corrupted.

This might be because of bad media, a bad DVD burner or a bad copy of the source installation package. (With a slim chance the problem might be elsewhere, for example the RAM might be so messed up that you can't even read the contents of the DVD into RAM without getting corruption).
