  • Memtest questions

I've noticed memtest took about 10 hours to test 32gigs of 1600mhz memory.

Another thing is now that I have test all this memory how can I see which slots are the slots with errors.

    Thanks

The test speed and duration will depend on
    - How many passes you are doing
    - If you are using V4 or V5. (V5 is faster)
    - The CPU you are using
    - The speed of the memory itself
    - The settings you selected in MemTest86. Multi CPU testing is faster than single threaded.

Normally it isn't possible to know which slot has an error, except by trial and error. The problems are
    - that that the slots aren't labelled in general, so you don't know which one is slot 0 for example.
    - the bytes are spread across the sticks when using dual, tri or quad channel RAM.
