  • Need help to understand memtest errors

    Hey,

I have earlier faced some bsods with stop code page fault in nonpaged area. Today i decided to run memtest to check if it finds errors and it did. Machine is lenovo t460s and currently it has only soldered ram (removed extra stick). So I wondered what it means that one same address keeps failing? I'm sorry I don't have full report to post as run is still going. Earlier as i tested it also kept failing only one address.

No need to wait until it finishes.
There is really no difference between 5 errors, 15 errors and 50 errors. It's all bad.

    > it has only soldered ram

    That isn't good news either.
Getting it fixed under warranty is the best option.

You might be able to hide the problem by editing out that RAM address via BCDEdit. But it is a messy process with no support from anyone when it doesn't work.

Great that it got fixed. But such a waste of resources to throw away the entire board to fix one bad chip.
