Running MemTest86 v8.3 on a Threadripper 3970X with ECC RAM, the system info screen says "ECC Enabled: no", and the MemTest86.log file says "find_mem_controller - AMD Ryzen (30h-3fh) ECC mode: detect: no, correct: no, scrub: no, chipkill: no" followed by "ECC polling disabled". There don't seem to be any configuration item to enable ECC polling manually.
However, it's highly probable that ECC is enabled nevertheless: I was trying tighter timings for my RAM, and let memtest86 run all night. It found no error during the 2 passes it was able to perform during that time, but after booting under Linux, it didn't take long for some ECC errors to be reported in the Linux kernel logs under normal activity.
