  • Problems with USB after running Memtest.

Hello, recently I have ran memtest off the usb. As a result, I had lost the original 4GB that was on the USB, I followed the steps found here:
    http://www.passmark.com/forum/showth...-with-imageUSB

However, when I inserted the USB after completing step 3, no message or prompt for formatting appears. The light on the USB is on, however nothing appears or pops up when the USB is in.

It doesn't seem to detect the USB at all, the little USB icon appears on the bottom right hand corner, after I plug it in, but nothing else happens after that.

Any advice as to how to fix this problem would be great.

Trying using Window's Disk Management to format the drive.

We had exactly the same question in the forum yesterday.
That user found that the format prompt didn't appear in Win8 unless they correctly ejected the USB drive (rather than just yanking it out).

        I'll try Disk Management.

As for ejecting the USB, I can't seem to find the option to eject it like with other USBs, unless there's a different way?

        Thanks for the replies!

I've tried to reformat the disk through here, but when I do I get 'The system cannot find the file specified'... No idea as to why this is happening. As for the formatting settings, I've tried both FAT32 and NTFS and the Allocation Size is on default.

I've also tried to eject the USB through Disk Manager, when I plug it back in after ejecting, it doesn't happen to prompt any messages.

Edit: Nevermind, all I had to do was plug it into a different computer for the pop-up to appear. Thanks for the help!
