  • USB Version does it matter for MemTest86?

Been using MemTest86 for a longtime, the flash drive I have been using is like a 8 year old USB 2.0 8GB flash drive. While I do have many nice super fast USB 3.0 and even USB 3.1 flash drives I would rather not use them for such this small program. Is there really any performance gains on running the tests do they complete any faster on faster USB drives. I primarily just do the memory test not the benchmarks.

    Thanks

USB3 boots slightly quicker and the log file writes to the USB drive slightly quicker.
But the overall time difference for a 4 pass test run is very small. Maybe just a dozen seconds.
We have seen problems with faulty USB drives, where the writing of the log is extremely slow. But if the drive is in good condition, it should be fine.
