  • Can't update flash drive from 5.0.0 to 5.1.0

I installed 5.0.0 to a 4 gig flash drive back when it first came out and it was and is bootable to this day. I had some time yesterday so I tried to update the flash drive to 5.1.0. The flash drive is not visible in windows 7 64 bit or in the memtest 5.1.0 installer. It does show up in disk management but all options are grayed out. Is there a way to fix this problem?

    Thanks
    Bill

You can use 'diskpart' to clear the partition information on the drive.

Enter 'list disk' to list all the disks in your system. Then, type 'select disk n' where n is the disk number of your drive. Then enter 'clean' to remove the partition information. After that, you can now use disk management to re-format your drive.
