  • Brand new 4400Mhz DDR4 ram throwing 125 test 6 errors. Any way to fix?

    Hi everyone,

I have brand new Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) (PVS416G440C9K) running on my brand new MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus motherboard. I've been experiencing crashes on a particular game (Destiny 2), where the game freezes, but it does not exit, throw an error, or freeze my system/OS. The game just hangs and is completely frozen. I tested my ram with MemTest86 because of this, and it's throwing 125 errors when running the default test, all errors are only on test 6 (block move, 64-byte blocks). There are no errors on any of the other tests.

Does this indicate factory faulty memory? Is there anything I can do to fix this, other than ordering new memory and hoping for the best?

My motherboard is compatible with the memory, and with memory up to 5000Mhz, and it is not currently overclocked.

Thanks for any info you can share.

Assume it is bad RAM to start with.
