  • BIOS versior repport error and UEFI mot Why?

    Hello ,
    I test memory 1x PC3-12800 DDR3 800MHz 11-11-11-28 Team Group Team-Elite
at which I suspect a problém. MB Asus with UEFI , CUP Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz
If I MemTest86 BIOS version to 4.3.7 this report many Error, only test 0 is without error, test 1-10 have thousand error.
If use UEFI MemTest86 v5.1 Pro all test is OK.
If the same slot insert another memory (same type) will test in the BIOS and UEFI version OK.
Where is the problem why UEFI does not report errors

Can you post a screenshot of the errors you are getting in 4.3.7.

Also, e-mail or post the MemTest86.log file under EFI\BOOT.

Were both sticks the same capacity (4GB, 8GB..)?

Maybe it was dirty connectors on the RAM stick or the slot, and reseating it between test runs fixed it up?

Or maybe it was a difference in the ability of the BIOS /UEFI to support multi-threading in V4/V5 that caused the difference in behavior.

Unfortunately I only save the test results from v5.1.
v5.1 discerned Defects module only when he was paired with another module.

If I test DIMM0 and DIMM1 separately v5.1 not found any error, v4.3.7 error detect (faulty SIMM, my guess, tear off BGA balls) !

There is a similar case here
          http://www.passmark.com/forum/showth...bad-cpu-or-ram
of different errors in V4 vs V5. Might be due to the RAM available for testing in the different versions (BIOS vs UEFI).
