  • Serial console settings?

Hey all, I'm working with an older server that's having some graphics glitches. The only way I can work with this server is over the serial console, and per this page, I'm told that I don't need to do anything to get the serial console to work... but I don't get any output from the machine when I try it (in contrast to memtest86+, which appears to boot and draw, and then immediately crashes). I'm using (I presume) the latest version, but there's no documentation on the serial port settings (i.e. baud rate, stop bits, parity, etc), and so I'm at a bit of a loss.

I'd like to continue trying to use memtest for this, but I obviously can't use any software that doesn't provide an interface for me to work with. If I have to drop some config files so that it'll automagically run the tests non-interactively, that's fine, but I need to know what and where to put those (or where I can find the documentation that tells me so).

    Does the machine support UEFI?
    Memtest86 V9 is UEFI only.

You need to go back to V4 to get support for old BIOS.

Oh, yeah, definitely not. Did not know that. That is good to know!
