  • Memtest86 RAM info question

    Hi Guys,

When I use LPDDR4 to run 1600MHz, the RAM info displayed by Memtest86 is LPDDR3 1600MHZ, very strange.
I would like to ask, how does memtest 86 read RAM info data?
Is it read the SPD information in the BIOS?
Is it possible to run LPDDR4 but display LPDDR3?

    Best Regards,
    Victor Lee

The SPD information is read from the RAM modules. If you believe MemTest86 is incorrectly reporting the memory, you can send in the debug log and we can take a look. There is a good chance the RAM is actually DDR3 however.

I want to ask a further question. I now confirm that I am using LPDDR4.
Is it possible to run LPDDR3 specification on LPDDR4?
      Best Regards,
      Victor Lee

Maybe the RAM vendor made a mistake when programming the SPD data into the RAM stick.
I assume you are using the latest version of MemTest86 ?

I am using Memtest86 V8.2, the running photos are as follows.
I have checked the IC model and confirmed it is LPDDR4.
