It recognizing all 128 threads - however when running in Parellel mode (all cpus) it freezes at a minute in

I passed with Sequential and round robin.

It is 256 gb ram with stock settings same with the 3990x - no overclocking.

Motherboard is the asus zenith ii extreme alpha

    Ram: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX DDR4

    CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X

    Any ideas?

    Might be this issue https://forums.passmark.com/memtest8...election-modes
See if there is newer BIOS available from ASUS.

I did flash to a new version of bios - however same thing is happening. it's locking up after 1 minute...

Any settings I should be checking in the BIOS?

Honestly feel like giving up or just using the Burntest from passmark. I mean I already passed on the seq and round robin.... why is it important for parallel.

Im sure its not my computer but the fact the memtest cant handle 128 threads running.

MemTest86 doesn't use thperthreading (by default, unless you force it) as it doesn't make RAM testing any faster (memory speed is still a bottlneck). So it would only be trying to launch 64 test threads at most. Current version of Memtest86 supports 256 threads.

But yes, if it has passed single threaded testing it significantly reduces the probability of finding a problem in multi-threading mode.
