  • Newbie don't know how to read the logs

    Well,

I read in multiple sites "check your memory with MemTest86", but I didn't think of what to do with the results!

Could you be so kind to inform me of either a) what's happening with my sticks or b) point me to where I can learn to understand these logs?

For example, this table from the html log:
    Test # Tests Passed Errors
    Test 0 [Address test, walking ones, 1 CPU] 4/4 (100%) 0
    Test 1 [Address test, own address, 1 CPU] 4/4 (100%) 0
    Test 2 [Address test, own address] 4/4 (100%) 0
    Test 3 [Moving inversions, ones & zeroes] 2/4 (50%) 3
    Test 4 [Moving inversions, 8-bit pattern] 3/4 (75%) 1
    Test 5 [Moving inversions, random pattern] 4/4 (100%) 0
    Test 6 [Block move, 64-byte blocks] 3/4 (75%) 2
    Test 7 [Moving inversions, 32-bit pattern] 0/4 (0%) 20
    Test 8 [Random number sequence] 1/4 (25%) 4
    Test 9 [Modulo 20, ones & zeros] 3/4 (75%) 1
    Test 10 [Bit fade test, 2 patterns, 1 CPU] 1/4 (25%) 3
    Test 13 [Hammer test] 2/4 (50%) 5
I've noticed that many errors were the result of adding 2000 to the address, but, what does it mean?

    I'm completely lost!

Thanks in advance for your help and for taking some time to read about my problems!

Would have been good to see the whole log. But very likely the RAM is bad.

See this page to start with
