  • Memtest result interpretation

    hi,

I've had a lot of BSODs this past few weeks and have decided that it could be a RAM issue.
So i ran memtest and had this as a result for the first pass.
I know this sounds stupid but, 65k+ is prompting me to buy new sticks, right?

Anyway, That was the result with both modules on. I am using a laptop by the way.
So I removed one of the two 4gb sticks and here are the results of its first pass.

Still 65k+ errors. but the contiguous errors are up to 1024, on its second pass, as I am writing this. Im not sure what it means.
Can somebody please explain what parts of the results are significant in deciding wether to buy a new module or not.
I will give the other stick a go on the same slot and update you what happens. Hopefully that comes out clean. Laptop RAM tend to be really expensive here. I hope I only need to replace one.

    Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Yes, I looks like bad news to me.

But try the other stick. If it gives errors, try moving the stick between the slots.

In the US, 4GB of Laptop DDR3 RAM is about $35. So pretty cheap all things considered.
