  • PXE boot Memtest86

    Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to PXE boot the newest versions of memtest86.

It is easy to PXE boot the memtest86+ version via the floppy image but I didn't find any information of how to do this with memtest86 version 5 or 6 beta.

Would it be an issue due to the only UEFI support of this version ?

    Thanks.

Though we haven't actually tried booting MemTest86 via PXE in UEFI, it is theoretically possible given that both the client and the server configured properly to support PXE booting. Doing a quick google search on UEFI PXE booting produces this page:

In short, you must be able to configure PXE booting in the the client's UEFI boot manager. On the server side, you will need to modify the config file to use the MemTest86 UEFI images.

      Thank you for your answer.

Too bad my HP SL210t Gen8 aren't UEFI ... which render my test useless.

I would probably give it a try anyway as the next hardware we'll have would surely support it.
