  • Confusing MemTest Results.

Hi, I have been trying to figure out why I keep getting bsod in Windows 8.1 so I decided to use MemTest to try and find the source of the problem.
I left the test running over night and came back to go d that I had almost 900 errors on the Block Test (#6). I figured that maybe one of the Memory sticks or slots where failing so I tested each memory stick on its own with no fails and now I have tested one stick in all my slots also with no fails.

My specs are: Asus ROG Crosshair IV Extreme mobo, AMD Phenom II Black Edition, EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX980, Corsair XMS3 Memory (4x4gb)

What version of MemTest86 are you using?
If you are using V4.3.7, then the errors are likely real hardware errors.

It might be the reseating the sticks has already fixed the problem, or it might be the problem only occurs with multiple sticks (which would enable the dual channel mode feature).

Can you test pairs instead of single sticks?
Can you borrow RAM from someone else to see if the problem goes away?
