  • Strange results and BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Hello,

    I have the following problem:
My PC crashes sporadically with the following message:

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I have run the memtest86 and see many errors:

Can someone explain to me please which memory module is defective?

    Thanks in advance.

Test half the sticks at a time & slowly narrow the problem down.

The memtest86 not exactly indicate which memory module is defective.
To test all 8 modules takes a lot of time.
Is there another program that can identify defective modules?

You don't need to test all 8.
        You test 4, then 2 then 1.
Also you don't need to run the full test. Just stop it at the first error (Maybe a couple of minute in your case)

The various hardware memory managers map and interleave the memory sticks in different fashions. So it isn't easy to know which stick is bad given only the address. Intel also keeps the algorithms for doing this secret for their CPUs.

I don't know of any software that does this for all motherboards & CPUs.
