  • Log.txt contains impossible tests

    Hey there,

I hope you guys can help me out with something. Right now I'm running a memtest diagnosis but the log.txt contains a very odd thing: Results to tests that could have never happened. For example, one entry reads:

======== Starting new MemTest session ========
    MemTest PRO 4.0 (c) 2009, HCI Design (http://hcidesign.com/memtest)
NOTE: greater than 100% coverage is possible. Each 100% indicates a thorough testing of all allocated RAM, however, intermittent errors may take multiple 100% cycles to be detected.

[2812] Tue Aug 05 18:18:37 2014 >> Test started. Allocated 2047 MB of memory for testing.
    [2812] Tue Aug 05 18:18:44 2014 >> Memory error found copying between 0x39f93748, 0xd0c23698, difference =80000
The thing is, my system didn't even exist in 2014. I built it myself from brand new out-of-the-box parts just a short time ago.
I hope someone will explain to me the meaning of this as I'm profoundly confused. Thanks in advance!

You may have better luck asking HCI Design themselves, as this is a different product from our MemTest86 software that you can download here:

    http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

MemTest86 doesn't require any O/S or hard disk to run.
