  • v10.2 DDR5 RDIMM 5600 Module Hang while Hammer Test on Intel C741 Chipset Platform

I have 8 DDR5 RDIMM modules test on Intel C741 Chipset Platform
While using Memtest v10.2 Pro it hangs on about test after 8 hours on Hammer test every time.
But it can test without hang while using v10.5 Pro and later version.
I can not find any fix on C741 Chipset(Emmitsburg) and CPU (Sapphire Rapids) during v10.2 to v10.5
But I found that hammer test is modified on v10.5
Is the modification of hammer test just for known hang issue or just performance enhancement for memtest program?
    Thank you!

    Tested Platform Info:
    CPU: Intel XEON GOLD 6416H
    Mother Board: Supermicro X13 SEI-F

    Changes in V10.5 were
    • Reduced the execution time of hammer test by increase minimum segment size per thread from 128MB to 512MB
    • Reduced the execution time of hammer test by reducing the maximum number of memory segments to hammer from 64 to 32
This was purely to reduce the test time on systems with a lot of RAM (for example in your case 8 hours seems way to long as a default behaviour).
So less testing is done in the newer release (unless you manually change the settings).
