I'm working on an old Dell Lattitude E6420. The system came to me with BIOS version A04, which doesn't have enough UEFI support for MemTest86 v6, so MemTest booted into v4 and run successfully. (All tests passed, BTW.)
I updated my BIOS to A22, which added enough UEFI support for MemTest86 to boot into v6.2 and... repeatably lock up at exactly the same point: Pass 0%, Test 38%, Address 0x100000000 - 0x22E000000.
Dell's firmware diagnostics also found no problems with the memory.
The Memtest86 v6.0 that comes with Parted Magic also hangs at that point.
