  • Tons of errors on my 2 year old PC at a loss

About a month ago I made a Linux partition on an external hard drive and started running into blue screen issues and after troubleshooting some SSD issues I thought I had solved it. Fast forward to last night I had a random power outage.. This morning I woke up to computer blue screened and it immediately blue screened again after reboot. After that its been usable but if I stress the system hard it will blue screen. BSOD errors were MEMORY_MANAGMENT, SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED all relating to a driver kernel called ntoskrnl.exe.. After researching this further most people were pointing towards faulty memory one way or another so I stumbled upon your tool. I've ran it 4 times both ram in, 1 ram in and 1 ram in a different slot then originally used. All have produced a tremendous amount of errors and I'm kind of at a loss of what to do. From what I've read its pretty rare for 2 ram sticks to go bad at the same time so I'm worried its a deeper issue. Thanks for the help.

Definitely looks like a hardware fault (or hardware configuration, such as RAM voltages or timing).

But yes, it is rare to have two sticks go bad at the same time. And you don't even appear to be running the RAM at it's full speed (2134MT/s instead of 3602MT/s).

Do you have any other RAM to test with?
Otherwise next suspect is the CPU.

So I went with trying to replace the ram first and to my surprise that seemed to do the trick. I had to manually put the ram to correct speed in the bios for some reason but it seemed to pass the tests. Thanks for the help.

        Glad it was sorted out.
Could have been a config issue. BIOS bug or SPD data bug. Or CPU / MB that is marginal.
RAM modules contain "SPD" data which the CPU can optionally use to configure the module (timings, voltages, clock speeds, etc...). Getting this slightly wrong can cause the RAM to be run at the incorrect settings, resulting in errors on all modules with that SPD programming.
