  • Test 10. Bad RAM or something else?

Hoping you can help me help my son with his gaming rig. We've had it since mid-July, and it's been relatively flawless since then. We started getting random crashes and BSOD this past week, Mostly Event ID 41 (kernel power due to the restarts). It was suggested I run MemTest and it threw 10,000 errors on test 10. I've pasted the results below. Is this a case of bad RAM or something worse?

    Likely it is RAM.

I should also note that running WhoCrashed shows a few recent crashes as a result of MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.

Thanks for your swift response, David. I plan to pick up two new sticks tomorrow to swap out and retest. I'll report back with my findings.

Is it somewhat same to think this isn't a motherboard problem, like I'd feared?

Only the bit fade test failed. None of the other tests.
Bit fade test could fail barbecue RAM refresh doesn't happen often enough (motherboard or BIOS problem) or because the RAM has failed and the electrical charge is leaking in/out between the refresh periods.

Nothing is 100% certain. You could test 1 stick at a time to be sure.
