  • Memtest86 if press/initiate shutdown, PC will shutdown but it will turn on by itself.

    Hi,

    I been observing this weird bug on certain ASUS Motherboard like ASUS MAXIMUS XI Hero.
    If I initiate shutdown after using Memtest86, the PC will shutdown and switch off.
    However a while later it will turn on by itself, this doesn't happened to one ASUS motherboard.

    I been using several ASUS motherboard on my side, I did notice this werid issue.
    Not sure is it either the motherboard BIOS there's setting I must turn off before
    using Memtest.

    Or Memtest software when using ASUS motherboard, the shutdown is not shutdown but restart.
    Other brands like MSI, Gigabyte and Asrock doesn't have such issue.
    Not sure what is wrong could be BIOS setting or software itself.

    Possibly an issue (or feature?) of the ASUS Motherboard/BIOS, best to consult with the BIOS manual or ASUS on their product. E.g. Check the APM Configuration in the BIOS for your motherboard, seems some ASUS motherboard support Power on by RTC (real time clock) and other "Power on" options, https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1043640/
