I can not get memtest86 to start on my Framework16 64gb

I am able to boot the USB drive and see the memtest86 logo and countdown but when it reaches 0 I just see a black screen and in the bottom right I see
CPU: 0
States: \

(the \ changes between \ | / characters)

I have left it for 4/5+ hours and I hear high CPU/Fan noise but nothing else. Any ideas?

Very likely it is a BIOS bug.
