  • When will Xeon E3 v5 be supported?

I was trying to use the "ECC error injection" feature on a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 laptop (Intel Xeon E3-1505M v5 CPU) with ECC RAM. But Memtest86 v6.3 Pro edition was not able to read the SPD info. Thus not able to test ECC at all.

How soon it will be updated to support the latest chipset? Thanks!

Can you send a copy of the MemTest86.log file under the EFI\BOOT\ of the USB drive.

We need to verify the PCI device ID of the SMBus that is being used in your system, and determine whether we can obtain the SPD info from the RAM.

          Thanks for the logs.

The inability to retrieve the SPD info could be due to Lenovo blocking access to the SPD modules. See here for reference: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=47789. Without knowing the internal specifications of the motherboard, it may not be possible to retrieve the SPD details.

However, this should not prevent ECC error detecting from functioning. If you send us an e-mail, we can provide a build that should be able to support your chipset for ECC detection.
