  • Memtest - Boot trace

    I execute Memtest86 4.3.7 using boot trace option. It takes long time to go from "290 - boot AP2" to "624 - init_cpus1", and the shows a message say it turn off SMP. What is happen ?

    SMP = symmetric multiprocessing.
    Maybe your system doesn't support multiple cores / threads?

      MB is Sapphire PURE Element PE-AM2RS690V2. Cpu is Amd Athlon 64 x2 4600. Something is not working, but I don't undertstand what.

        What is the actual problem, other than a slow boot?
        Is your BIOS up to date?

          The problem is that memtest86, after I choose option 1, shows me empty blue screen and freeze. So I start memtest86 with option 3 to try to understand what is the problem

            It seems that MemTest86 timed out while waiting for each core/thread to complete booting. I suspect it may be related to hyperthreading.

            Can you record a video or screenshot of the boot trace, and upload it on youtube.
