  • BUG: Folder with special characters

Hi. I've found a "little" BUG:
The engine cannot indexing the content of folders with this special character: '

    Example1: My Folder's

The directory is renamed in: My Folder&#39s
...as a result the entire content of this directory is unavailable!

(Is likely to happen with other symbols)

My guess is that there wasn't anything in your folder to index. But can you E-mail us your log file so we take a look. If you right click in the log window, you can select "Save to File".

Just re-reading your post & thinking about this more.

There is no problem with the indexing of the folder as pointed out above. There is also no problem with the searching. But there is a problem when you go to open the file from the search index module. At this point the folder name has been translated into a URL.

So you are correct. There is a bug opening files in OSF in the search index folder when the files are in folders with special characters.
All the files are still indexed and searchable, but you'll need to browse to the file to open it in Windows Explorer rather than opening it directly in OSF.

We'll fix this up for the next patch release.
