So far I have not been able to find any mention of automating OSForensics in any way. Yes, you can run python scripts from the menu, but as far as I can tell, there is really no API that would allow the scripts communicate with OSF in any way. That's a real shame, as OSF's artifact parsing engine is quite awesome. What I would like to do is having an external script call OSF, point it to an evidence file, and have it export User Activity categories into CSV files. Has anyone been successful doing this? I really don't want to go the "simulate mouse clicks" way, but unfortunately unlike FEX it seems there is no built-in scripting support in OSF.

We are looking at better scripting support in the next major release, V8.
We just started doing some experimentation with using embedded Python to 'talk' with some of the internal modules, to see how that might work.
