  • Virtal image burnt on a DVD

    Hi,

I am using OSFMount 3.0.1006 to mount *.VHD or *.VMDK images so that a further antivirus can scan the content.

When my virtual machine image is stored on a USB device, OSF manages to mount the virtual drives and the antivirus starts the scan.

But when i insert a DVD-DL on which a *.VHD or *.VMDK image is burnt, OSFMount doesn't mount the virtual drives contained in the image.

I'm using the same command line for every support : this command is for example "OSFMount.com -a -t file -f M:\johndoe.vhd -o physical"
    - M: can be the USB drive or the DVD inserted
    - as i said, sometimes the image can be M:\johndoe.vmdk : the path for the file to mount is gotten by a script

Does OSF only manage mounting via USB and not via SCSI ?

    Thx.

    Regards,

    B.

    Who uses a DVD anymore?

I would suspect it is because the DVD is now read only.

We still work on quite old technologies, i know, even if double-layered DVDs are the most recent...

But the GPOs on the machine have set USB drives on read-only too, and the mounting via USB works...
