In principle yes.
But actual answer really depends on the file system, the type & size of files, how the erase was done, how long ago the erasure happened, subsequent use of the drive and luck.
e.g.
If the file was actually erased as you say (e.g. wiped to zeros) recovery will be impossible.
If disk was written to after files were deleted than recovery chances start to drop off dramatically. (new data can overwrite old data)
