local diag. mode- no package passes

I ran the local diagnostic mode, the modem is identified and makes an aful lot of noise, but none of the packages is received. 0%.
(The modem is a creative modem DI5633, V92. Win XP, COM3).

Where do I go from there?

It would have helped if you had posted the log file.

Not all modems support the local analog loopback mode. So you should check your manual to see if it does or doesn't.

Does the modem work in a normal dial up situation?
