Firefox & Flash don't have 64bit native releases yet, but the 32bit releases work OK on 64bit.

Thanks for the quick reply. Actually, I think moving to a 64-bit OS is a great idea.
I have all the latest parts (as you can see in my specs) so drivers should not be an issue. The software I mostly use is: Mozilla Firefox, Eclipse SDK, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Adobe Premiere, Avast Antivirus, and so on. These programs are very popular and I am sure there is a 64-bit version available.
As I read on many forums, 64-bit is the future. I think I'll do the move.
I managed to overclock my CPU from 2.8GHz to 3.4GHz without any significant heat increase (BCLK 160, 21X + turbo mode, 1.15000 VCore) and my rating went from 4,551 to 6.043.
Thanks.

Most likely its because you are running a 32 bit OS not a 64 bit OS. I have the same CPU running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and my CPU score is 6228 at stock speed. If you want maximum performance you will need a 64 bit OS, preferably Windows 7 and 6 or 12 gigs of ram. 12 gigs is overkill but its more future proof. The price on 4 gig modules has come down considerably so a 12 gig kit, 3 x 4 gig can be had for under $300 US. Two 6 gig kits sell for in the $130-$180 range each.

Low CPU Mark for Intel i7
Hi all, first of all here are my computer specs:
-----
CPU: Intel Core i7 930 @ 2.8GHz
Motherboard: ASUS P6T
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5750 DDR5 1.0GB
Hard drive: Hitachi 1TB HDS721010CLA332 7200RPM 32MB cache
RAM: 3x Kingston triple-channel DDR3
PSU: Antec EA-650 650W
OS: Windows 7 Integral edition 32 bits
-----
By looking at the online comparison charts, the CPU mark for the Intel i7 930 @ 2.8GHz should be around 5,823. However, here are my results:
CPU Mark: 4,549.1
Int. math: 516.8
Float math: 2,135.5
Prime num.: 1,023.5
Multimedia: 15.9
Compression: 7,527.6
Encryption: 23.0
Physics: 387.2
String sort.: 5,217.3
My overall score for all tests is 1,451.
I am thinking about overclocking my PC, but does someone know why the CPU mark is below the standards?
Thanks.Tags: None
