    Hey first post :3

I have an intergrated Radeon x1200 in my computer, when i surf in Device manager ( right click computer/ property ) it says its a PCI, but my friend passed me a PCI-E card and it worked fine, i could of installed it. but now im going to buy a Geforce gt 240 and it says its a PCI-E 2.0.... Would it work with my computer ? ( 2005 acer aspire desktop )

    thanks again.

PCI-E 2.0 cards should work with PCI-E 1.0 motherboards. And the other way around. See,

There is also the issue of number of lanes. While there is compatibility between PCI-E x1, x4, x8 and x16, you won't get optimal performance unless the motherboard supports the max number of lanes the card supports.

    I think the GT240 is PCI-E 2.0 x16
