Help! Low benchmarks

I recently updated my video card and added more ram but my PC is still running low. Is something wrong with my CPU??

Temperature reading of 99C are way to high.
You probably have thermal throttling.

Thanks! I checked my heat sink and looks like the thermal paste had partly dried up so I changed the thermal paste. It helped a little and temp is now reading in the 80s. I ordered a new heatsink and i'll see if that will help.

What should the temp be sitting at for my processor? And could there be a software issue that could be causing overheating? Should I also reformat my pc.

The operating temperature depends on the CPU, but typically in the range of 40-50 C. The maximum optimal operating temperature from the Intel specification for your Core i7-920 CPU is 67.9°C.

Running the processor at higher temperatures will cause your CPU to throttle or may possibly damage the CPU if is continuous run above the specified temperature.
