    Using the setting given in the help file off by 10x and using max settings it's off by 3x?
    (PT 8 1053 x64)

    Default
    Graphics 3D - DirectX 9 Simple This Computer 59.9

    DirectX 9 Simple Advanced
    Windowed, 1024x768, 4x Anti-Aliasing Objects Minimum
    679.31 fps / 1.47ms per frame / 0.07ms Jitter (4.75%)

    DirectX 9 Simple Advanced
    Full screen 1920x1080, 8x Anti-Aliasing, Full screen , Objects Maximum
    169.86 fps / 5.89ms per frame / 0.17ms Jitter (2.88%)

    PT8 is old now. You might want to try PT9 instead.

    Any result around 59 typically indicates you are fame rate limited by the monitor refresh rate (60hz). So that is likely the issue.

      The "max refresh rate" setting helps somewhat 240fps (vs 340fps best) but v9 does not have this setting even though the docs say it's there? But since my main purpose in benchmarking is to look for perf. problems over time I want to use the same version so the scores are comparable without the software being a variable, and with v8 I can compare various setups over multiple years..

        The option was removed in V9. As for benchmarking we never really want to limit the frame rate. But there are also settings in the video card that can override the application settings and limit the frame rate.
