Yes, very similar performance.
In most applications you probably wouldn't notice the difference. -

Can we say they are equivalent? which is the margin for error between these 2 cpus? 0n 09.01.2012 the score was:

The Xeon E31225 has a better GPU built into the chip and supports ECC RAM. So they aren't identical from a features point of view.
But I believe the core of the CPUs are the same, and clock speed, cache and number of cores are the same. So pure CPU performance should be very very close.
Memory access might be slower with ECC RAM.Comment
