My passmark benchtest results

Hi all.

I just got myself a Mushkin Sata 3 SSD and one of my friends asked me if I would do a benchtest so downloaded the passmark trial one.

My PC set up is:

Mobo: Asus Sabertooth X58 (bios 0603)
CPU: Intel i7 950 @ stock (3.069 GHz)
RAM: 12Gb Mushkin DDR3-1600 Radioactive running @ 6-7-6-24 1.65v
GPU: KFA2 GTX 480 Anarchy @ stock
HDD: C: 120Gb Mushkin Sata 3 / D: 1Tb WD Caviar Black Sata 3 / E & F: 2 older Sata 2 drives (just got old junk on them)
PSU: Corsair 750w
Case: Coolermaster HAF932 + coolermaster sickleflow blues running mainly off the PSU

My scores are:

Passmark rating = 2957.3
CPU Mark = 6571.3
2D graphics = 473.4
3D graphics = 3495.5
Memory = 2861.9
Disk = 2631.6
CD = 600

I would appreciate it greatly if someone would take the trouble to explain what these scores really represent and whether they are low / average / good / exceptional and if there is anything I can do to improve it.

For me the benchtest itself means nothing.. I might build my computers but I've never bothered with this stuff so haven't learnt what it all means. My friend was pestering me so I did it.

You can download baseline results from within the software itself. Then compare you machine to others.

Your CPU is about 2% above the average for a i7 950.

I assume the Mushkin SSD is the model MKNSSDCL120GB-DX. ("Callisto deluxe 120GB"). In which case you are significantly above average for this SSD model. It is fairly easy to get poor performance from a SATA3 SSD as many motherbaords don't support SATA3, which will constrain the speed. The Asus Sabertooth X58 does however. So you don't have this concern.

So the SSD is about 10% over average for this model.

With regards to downloading other peoples test results I don't know what I'm looking at. Like I said I've not used benchmark software before and I wouldn't even know where to start searching for other peoples results given that its unlikely others will have anything resembling my build..

You might be surprised.
We have about 600,000 sets of results. So most of the popular combinations are covered.
