MSI Gtx 960 4gb getting same GPU score as a GTX 660 2gb

I have a 4690K and GTX 960 4gb and my GPU score is the same as my friends with a 2 core G processor and a GTX 660 2gb. I am desperately searching for a reason... I've already changed the power settings in windows and the graphics card. Mine is the top in the image

You are using V7 of PerformanceTest. Unless the machine is really really old (pre Windows XP era) you should be using V9 of the software.

V9 of the software contains DirectX11 and DirectX12 benchmark tests at higher resolutions. This would separate the old and new video cards in performance a lot more.

Got it. So with V8 I get a better score... V9 doesnt seem to work as well since it says it always has to penalize me for not being able to run at 4k..

It is working exactly as designed.
Likely it would penalise your friend's PC even more, as the GTX 660 doesn't support DirectX12 at all.
