thank you for your kind replies! But I can't solve it. In the main tab when I point the mouse to the processor it states that the processor has 1 cpu and 1 core. In the preferences of PT I can change the number of processe to four, but if I exit the program and restart it, it wants to change it back to two.
I will do a clean installation tomorrow. And see if the problem solves itself.
I'll get back,
greetings

Look in Edit / Preferences in PT.
Or look at Task manager.
Post above also covers it.Leave a comment:

The number of processes was indeed set on two. Set it on four. Rebooted the system and took a look in the bios. Everything oke there. All cores enabled. But here it comes: when the system rebooted and I restarted performance test 7 it told me that the number of processes was not set properly for this system. I let it correct itself automatically and the number of processes was set back to two.
So windows is still under the impression the cpu has two cores? Where to correct that?

See this post to start with.

My guess would be that you aren't running the test on all CPU cores.Leave a comment:

Dear wizzards,
I bought myself a second hand prosessor (core i7 870). Seems to worke fine. Is recognised by he operating system. CPU temp 30 C. No system errors of any kind. But the scores seem to be verry low? I don't understand.

I did not reinstall the operatingsystem. (windows 7 64x sp1) Could that be the problem?
