6950 vs 7970 3d- directX 11 the same what gives

Just got a new 7970 for my system. My question is my graphics 3d- directX 11 is getting the same score as my 6950 98 vs 98.9 Then I look at build #40852 and he gets 152.3 thats 54% better then my score what gives? All the other scores on that build (GPU wise) are very close to my scores he gets about 500 more points on the 3d graphics mark We for the most part have the same setup except he overclocked his system

I haven't looked into it in detail, but I would suspect that this high end video card is being held back by the CPU's performance.

As a result overclocking his CPU to near 5Ghz provides significant benefit over the stand clock speed.
