AMD FX 3850 vs. Intel Dual CPU (x2) Xeon X5482

So which one is better of the two builds considering that all other hardware are the same. Note that the build described with Intel consists of 2 CPUs.

Considering to the bench mark of a single Xeon X5482, the dual CPU is not doubling the performance. How come?

    Define 'better'

Running dual X5482s will be hotter, noisier and use more power. The motherboard the CPUs (and most likely the RAM) will be way more expensive. However they will be faster for just about any task.

Doubling the number of CPUs or Cores doesn't generally double performance.
