Hd8990 = oem 7990?

I noticed a HD 8990 Benchmark has been posted. Apparently it'll be released 1 Dec 2013. And apparently its an OEM issue 7990. So I dunno if it should've been posted - probably someone overclocked their 7990 and tweaked the data read for the identification.

Hard to know for sure. I agree it appears to be very similar to the 7990. Higher result might be just a result of testing with a better CPU than the average 7990 results.

Wikipedia calls up same Malta processor in each and at same clock speeds. Odds on the scuttlebutt is correct: HD8990 = HD9990
