    How can you get 29k Disk Mark points

    We have seen a few results like this. We are suspecting they are either RAM disks, or that the drive in question is being connected via a disk controller that is doing a lot of caching (and ignoring requests from the operating system not to cache.

    This implies that these very high results can occur on any drive type, and this is in fact what we observe. But recently we have also noticed this effect occurs in the Samsung SSD 840 slightly more often than with other drives. We aren't sure if this is just because the drive is popular or there is something special about it. We see maybe 0.5% of results like this, and they get excluded from the charts, but not the individual pages like the link you provided above.

      no this is not my machine, i was just curious as to how you could get so high a score, when the average score for the samsung 840 evo was like 3700
