Hi, I have an acer aspire E15 model E5-575 54E8 CPU is I5-6200, 2.3G 6G, Ram DDR 4 and 1T Harddrive. It has windows 10 home edition. It has always been slow and takes ages to update windows 10 everytime there is a feature update. Only have ms office on it. Am thinking about upgrading the HDD to a solid state drive and giving it some more ram, to try and speed the thing up, but I don't know if that will make much difference. Can anyone advise on the best way to make it faster. Not sure if its because the CPU I guess is just low capacity?

You will likely see the most improvement once you move to SSD. Additional RAM can also help if your memory usage is high. Also check the following thread for other suggestions that might be slowing down your CPU.
