As soon as it is possible to do it we'll be doing it.
At the moment there is no good silicon available to do the 10Gps speed (there are host chips, but not general device chips). The few devices that can do this are typically hard coded to perform a very narrow function (typically USB to MVMe bridge chips) or they are for USB hubs.
It is also possible we'll go directly from USB3 to USB4 (and skip USB3.2 Gen2 and 2x2). Our feeling is that once USB4 is here people are going to forget about the mess that is USB3.2 Gen 2x2.
