  • Apple M1 Benchmark

I'm wondering, with all the hype that Apple's M1 beats the i7 and i9, why does it only score 15,000 range here on Passmark? Are people over hyping it? Is Passmark being unfair to the M1?

Well it does only have 8 cores and 8 threads so it isn't going to have a higher score than anything with more threads and cores, since the scores scale with the increase of cores/threads

Though if you look at the single threaded results, its better than everything else: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html
This might change in a few weeks with the release of the intel i9-12900k

Results for the new M1 models are trickling in. Samples are still low, so take it with a grain of salt, but for CPU they are still on top of single thread results.

Intel released a faster CPU just 6 days later.

M1 still look really good on power vs wattage however.
(and really good compared to everything released in the last 5 years)

I wonder how cool would be those laptops, with such amazing processors at the highest rates.
