  • BurnInTest PXE boot with 3d video testing

Hello, I have created the PXE network boot in WinPE 3.0 to be able to test computers without the operating system. The testing of RAM, CPU etc. works without any problems.

My question is: Is there a way how to test the video-card using the 3D or 2D tests? When trying to run the tests, following errors appears:
    3d: Unknown DirectX error
    2d: Error initializing DirectDraw

I have read several forums where people try to resolve this issue, but I haven't found any complex and functional solution.

Do you have any experience with this issue? Or better, have you, guys, anybody already resolve this problem?
    Any ideas are highly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Jack

We aren't supporting 3D/2D test functions that rely on DirectX in WinPE.
While it might be technically possible to get it running there are a host of video card driver issues and library issues to get it all working in WinPE.
(i.e. if it was working, it would probably only work on a sub-set of video cards).

If you want to to 3D testing, then I would suggest using the full version of Windows.
