  • What determine the ratio between single threads and global CPU mark ?

Hello, what are the factors affecting the _ratio_ between the single thread mark and the global CPU mark for a CPU (other than the number of cores of course) ?

For example, Ryzon9 7950X3D has a single thread mark of 4229 and an overall CPU mark of 63349, while i9-13900 has 4384 but "only" 48905 for the global CPU mark, and both have 16 cores/32 threads...

How to interpret this difference in the ratio ?

Is it that the single thread is the result on the faster core, but in one case they are all the same while in another there are fast/slow cores together? Or one CPU is more efficient in letting multi-threaded computation exchange data between thread leading to better multi-threaded performances ?

    Thank you!

    Number of cores
    Number of threads
Turbo clock speeds on single cores
How effective the cache is with multiple cores
    Size of cache
    Supported memory bandwidth
Types of cores (power vs efficiency)
If NUMA is required for memory access
How well the benchmark scales across multiple cores
Power and thermal throttling (so cooling as well)
