Torn between two cards I already have

I currently have a R9 390 freesynced to my 2k monitor. It works really well. I am playing BF4 (144hz) on ultra and MGS5 and the such with no problems at 1440p and freesync looks great.

I saw the gtx980ti drop to $570 and without thinking i jumped on it. Now i have that but If i use it I will lose freesync. Are the benefits of the 980ti worth the loss of freesync?

I can still return the R9 390 for a full refund and I can attempt to sell the GTX980ti for what I paid for it. I suppose it would have been best to find a deal on the furyX...

I didn't think free sync was of any significant benefit at high frame rates.
I thought its main use was when the frame rate dropped below around 60fps.
So if you are getting high frame rates I don't think the loss of free sync is important.
