Hi! I’m a creator of the js-dos project, a DOSBox/DOSBox-X port for the browser. I found the PassMark PerformanceTest Version 2.0A Test very useful—it’s a great way to quickly assess js-dos performance. However, I need to tweak it to automatically collect statistics.

Is there any chance the source code is still available, and if so, would you be willing to share it under an open-source license?

This is / was my source code.

V2.0 was released on Nov 1999 and supported Windows 95 or 98 or NT. Besides CPU, RAM and Disk testing it did some basic 3D testing.
Despite this the executable was only 260KB in size. So it would easily fit on an old floppy disk.

PerformanceTest V1.0 was inspired by the even older Norton SI DOS software. Symantec / Norton discontinued it at some point and there was a bit of a gap in the market for benchmarks.

The Norton CPU speed calculation was hopelessly narrow however. It was just an single integer multiple and divide of two fixed values in a loop. So not a very accurate representation of CPU performance.

We found the source code for V2.0a.
We'll need to check it and maybe remove the need for a license key before any release.

In the meantime here is a license key that anyone can use with PerformanceTest V2.
